My not-so-PC daughter

So Julia asks me the other day:

"Hey, can I be Godzilla for Halloween next year? I could tape pictures of squashed Japanese people to the bottom of my shoes."

We have some work to do in the ethnic and cultural sensitivity department.

That's a funny one. You know, I believe that is how alot of stuff is misunderstood. People, young and old, make innocent comments and they are misunderstood to mean something totally different. Most people aren't culturally insensitive, they just don't know!

Hey, I didn't mean to step on just the Japanese people. Those were the only people around. I mean, we did film in Japan. Honest, if there had been some other kind of people there, I would have stepped on them just as much! My head is WAY above my feet...I can't see all the way down there.I certainly believe in equal opportunity flattening.

...in fact that's why we filmed in New York, not just once but a couple of times. I think we may have filmed in Japan a few more times, but each time we film in New York it evens out the score, the ratio of North Americans to Japanese. We tried to avoid the Japanese tourists, but hey, what can ya do.... Sorry for reposting, but, I am an animal, I couldn't think of everything at first. I can spell pretty good though, huh? :)

I didn't remember Godzilla squashing a bunch of people. I thought he used that awesome ray-gun mouth of his.

well, you know there's people down there by my feet, it is an occupied city...at least that's what my shoes tell me when were done...

I mean the fire and all is a lot more interesting to watch on the big screen, if you simply step on someone, all you're going to see is a big shoe with, maybe a hand sticking out from under ther sole if you're lucky, and its over.

Everytime we film that I get a throat infection and am down for about 6 months, and there is no losenge in the world big enough for me...being an actor ain't all that....

But at least you won't have to work on creativity or thinking "out of the box." Don't know many 7 year old girls who want to be Godzilla for Halloween!

I always loved the quote by George Costanza when referring to his finace, "She's Godzilla and I'm thousands of fleeing Japanese!"

Joel -- my favorite George quote is "You can stuff your sorrys in a sack, Mister!" from the backwards episode. I try to use it in conversation as much as possible, but people rarely apologize to me so it doesn't come up much.

That's exactly what Hillary told her mom when she was a child.
