Great Storm

A photo of Galveston's seawall this morning. The statue commemorates the 1900 Storm, which killed 6,000-8,000 people and remains the deadliest natural disaster in U.S. history.

We are praying for friends and family in Baytown, Houston, Beaumont, Galveston and other areas within Ike's reach.

Someone was reporting from Baytown last night. You were the first person I thought of.

Hey, Deana! It's Nell from Baytown. I'm actually in College Station right now, but Skip stayed in Baytown as well as Matt, Kara and Hank. I have spoken to them this morning, and all are fine. Skip said lots and lots of debris, trees down, damage to various buildings, etc. No power or water at this time. But all things considered, it's not as bad as it could have been. Please continue to pray for those who stayed and for the families who will be returning to begin the clean up. It's going to take a while. Love to all of you. Love the picture of Julia and reading about her culinary talents!
