Hello, Mastitis, My Old Friend

Chad and Julia left for Kids Camp today and soon after, I discovered I've got mastitis. It's an infection of the milk duct caused by breastfeeding, for those of you who don't know. This is the third time I've had it since Jenna was born. (Incidentally, she turns 10 months today.) My mom is coming to spend the night with me and stay until Chad and Julia get back tomorrow. In the meantime, my left boob hurts so bad I'm thinking about sawing it off.

Ouch! This sounds funny, BUT I'll be praying for your... um, quick healing. Is this something they can give you anitbiotics for or do you just have to wait it out?

Let me clairify my asking, I'm expecting my first child in the next few weeks and any info I can get on such matters is a boat load more than I currently have. I'm quite blunt in asking about things, but since you can't hear that in my typing I thought it would be better for me to clear that matter up.

What in the world was God thinking? I mean, I understand that he has a reason for every creation...I struggled with that belief and mosquitos but an infected BOOB?!! What purpose can this possibly serve?...This has to be brought on by satan. I'll be praying against your demonic boob. Till then...does anbesol work on nipples?

If you break up the term for this unfortunate affliction into two parts, you get a little Spanish funny.

I haven't had fullblown mastitis but I've had a plugged milk duct and it ain't no dance party. Bummer. Hope you feel better soon.

ooh, I remember that pain. I miss breast-feeding so much some times. Even the pain. Those beady little eyes staring me in the face in the middle of the night...HEAVEN.

I heard of this when I was a young man ... so I determined early on that I would never breastfeed ...
